Aksakov House-Museum is a museum dedicated to the life and work of writer Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov. It was in this house in the years 1795-1797 that the Aksakov family lived. He himself called this place the «Ancestral Nest.» The museum has collected a huge number of exhibits. They talk about the young and mature years of the writer.

Museum History

The museum was founded in 1978. For a long time in the 80s he was under restoration. In 1991, which UNESCO declared the year of Aksakov, the exposition was opened. The memorial part tells visitors about life and life in Ufa at the turn of the 18th-19th centuries. It restores the interior of the era, and also tells about the family chronicle of the Zubov-Aksakovs. The literary part of the exposition tells about the life of Aksakov, about his studies, literary and theatrical work, about the writer’s environment. One of the sections is also devoted to his sons, Slavophile writers, Konstantin and Ivan Aksakov.

Each year, the museum together with the Aksakov Foundation holds the International Aksakov Festival, scientific readings, exhibitions, literary and musical evenings, chamber concerts of ancient and classical music.

Tickets and opening hours

Tickets for visiting the museum cost 150 rubles, and preferential (students, children, pensioners) — only 50 rubles. Weekends at the museum are Monday and Sunday. On weekdays, the museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00, on Saturday — from 12:00 to 20:00.
